Bouncy ball painting!

Over the last couple of weeks at some of our classes we’ve been exploring Circles – printing, puppet making, circle collages and lots more! One of our favourite activities has been bouncy ball painting – always a big hit!

Bouncy ball painting is a super simple activity to try at home with your own little artists. You just need a rimmed tray, some bouncy balls, paper and paint! Pop the paper on the tray, dip the balls in the paint, place the balls on the paper and get started! Get your little one to tip and move the tray to roll the balls across the paper and watch some fab patterns emerge!

Great for developing fine and gross motor skills, coordination, learning about cause and effect, colour mixing – and tons of fun too!… try using different size balls or textured balls – tumble dryer balls make some great patterns!

Welly boot printing …aka jumping in painty puddles!

The Little ARTventurers have been having tons of fun this and last week in Sunderland and Liverpool trying out welly boot printing!

As part of our Peppa Pig inspired sessions we’ve been jumping in painty puddles and making the most fabulous patterns with our welly boots!

How much fun does this look – now that’s Active art!!

Newcastle and Gateshead here we come!

We are super excited this week to be welcoming Emily to our little team with the launch of ARTventurers Newcastle and Gateshead. Emily is mum to Holly 3 and baby Faith aged just 4 months, and has been bringing Holly along to our Sunderland classes for more than a year now – we actually did an art party for Holly’s 2nd birthday and for her 3rd birthday too!

Emil and Holly enjoyed the format and activities at ARTventurers so much that Emily decided to take on a licence to launch her own classes – starting in May in Jesmond, Newcastle with more venues and classes planned in the coming months. Welcome to the team Emily – we know you’re going to be fab!

Eeek – award nominations!!

We’re really thrilled to have learned today that ARTventurers has been nominated as Best Local Activity for the Under 5s in the What’s On 4 Little Ones Awards 2014! It’s the third year in a row that we’ve been nominated and the fact that the nominations come from mums, dads and carers who attend our sessions really makes it extra special.

Fiona has also been nominated as Most Outstanding Activity Leader for the Under 5s (East) for the second year running which is a great accolade – well done!

ImageIf you’d take the time to vote for us in either or both categories we’d really appreciate it – it only takes a minute and I think there’s a prize draw too!
